Assessing preparations ahead of the State Assembly Elections scheduled for late November, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), N Gopalaswami, on a visit to the state, convened administrative and police officials, Thursday.
The CEC reiterated commission’s commitment to conduct the process in a free, fair, impartial and transparent manner.
He warned that official laxity on the matter would be meted out with strict action.

BJP Should Clarify Stand on Terror: Digvijay
Launching a broadside against the saffron brigade AICC general Secreatary and Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh asked the BJP leadership, especially LK Advani, to spell out their stand on the danger of “Hindu terrorists” and the need to fight them, along with terrorists belonging to the minority communities.
